Cathy Hurt

Domiciliary Care Worker

Key responsibilities

My main duties are to provide personal care, light household jobs, shopping, medication support and companionship for our elderly clients.

Qualifications

I have done basic life support and safeguarding training. I have a care certificate and am working towards a diploma level 2 in health and social care.

How long have you worked for Sambhana Care?

I have worked for Sambhana care since November 2020.

Experience before joining Sambhana Care?

I worked for 15 years as a child minder. Through this I learnt to be tolerant, caring, understanding and deal with situations compassionately. After a career change my father became unwell and so I became his carer. Whilst doing this it made me realise how lucky my dad was to have me to care for him and there were other people that wasn’t so lucky to have this. That’s when I decided that I would like to help other people that needed that care and support.

Outside of work, what are your interests?

I am a mother to two boys and they keep me busy. I like to walk a lot and socialise with my friends. I like live music and enjoy going out to watch and support local live bands.

Covid Safety

All our staff have now received their Covid vaccination to ensure the ongoing safety of our clients.

Working with our clients during these challenging times we know they want to stay at home where they feel safe and secure for as long as is humanly possible before considering residential care and it is our mission to make that happen wherever possible.

Our easily recognisable, trained and uniformed staff are referenced, enhanced DBS-checked, carry full Sambhana Care ID, and are tested weekly for Covid-19. In addition, we have the necessary Personal Protective Equipment and practice social distancing to ensure your safety and ensure peace of mind. We will continue to follow all the government guidance for those working in the health and social care sector to protect your safety in your home.
